Harvest Fields Community Church (located on 2626 E Tremont Ave in The Bronx) holds a food pantry every Friday at 11am. Visitors can receive free food. The only information they ask for is your name and signature. 

An EBT Card

Once you qualify for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or cash benefits (Temporary Assistance) you receive an EBT card, also known as a Common Benefit Identification Card (CBIC). The EBT card looks like a debit card. The EBT card allows you to buy groceries and other items with your cash benefits at participating stores and other locations.

  • A Food Justice Youth Leadership Program, which operates as a 24-week, after school curriculum for low-income middle and high school youth.
  • Our Cooking and Eating Together Initiative, which convenes community members monthly for instructional cooking classes, nutritional discussion, and healthy meal sharing.

Restaurant Meal Program

"CalFresh Restaurants goal is to provide a variety of nutritious meal choices to the homeless, disabled and elderly CalFresh individuals. The CalFresh Restaurant Meals Program allows homeless, disabled, and elderly (age 60 and over) individuals and his/her spouse (husband, wife, common-law husband, common-law wife) receiving CalFresh benefits to use their Golden State Advantage (EBT) cards to purchase meals from participating restaurants."

"CalFresh (formerly known as Food Stamps) is an entitlement program that provides monthly benefits to assist low-income households in purchasing the food they need to maintain adequate nutritional levels. Get Food: Locate a Partner Agency: Pantry distribution dates and times are subject to change. Please call the pantry to verify that this information is current. Most pantries serve according to geographical service area. Food pantry clients should bring photo identification with them to the pantry. The identification should show client’s current residential address. Some pantries have an application process and ask clients for documents supporting income. However, all clients will be served the first time regardless of completion of application and service area.

Our aim is to provide a variety of healthy food.  Usually we have fresh fruits and vegetables, canned food, pasta or rice, bread, and protein.  Occassionally we have other items such as cereal, oatmeal, eggs, chicken, or tofu.

Food is distributed from a number of different sources such as the USDA, Alameda County, the city of Oakland, the Alameda County Community Food Bank, and donations from local businesses.  Due to the variety of sources we cannot guarantee specific items, however we try to provide healthy choices."
